Organisation
The
Kaiaua Wine and Food Festival is organised by a Committee of nine
volunteers. This is an ongoing job throughout the year with the last
two months before the festival being a challenge to their organisational
skills ensuring that everything will fall into place on the day. All
surplus funds go back into the community with most Organisations and
Clubs e.g. Kaiaua Rural Fire Force, Kaiaua Health Centre and many
others, receiving donations from the Wine and Food Committee.
Location
Kaiaua
is located on the increasingly popular Seabird Coast (the western
shores of the Firth of Thames) just over 1 hour from Auckland's CBD.
The Kaiaua Wine and Food Festival stops the town, literally. The festival
is located in the centre of the township - at the Bay View Hotel and
grounds, and across the road in the superb reserve at the Kaiaua Boating
Club.
Promotion
The Festival Committee places hoardings around the Thames, Waikato,
Hauraki Plains and Franklin County region.
We undertake radio advertising as well as posters, flyers and car
banners, with festival advertisements placed in the local newspapers
in the region. Information leaflets are placed in the Information
Centres around the Thames Valley, Waikato, Franklin and Auckland regions.
